Clinton Climate Initiative: Floating Solar Knowledge Sharing & Mini Courses

Join CCI’s mini-course series on floating solar PV (FPV) for islands. The courses take place virtually in October-November 2021. (Alternate dates are set in case courses need to be cancelled due to extreme weather events).

Course #1: Procurement & De-Risking Track
Aimed at policymakers, utility representatives, consultants, and other energy practitioners who are interested in de-risking and procuring floating solar projects in islands. This track will cover the basics of floating solar technology, but no prior technical knowledge is assumed. The course will consist of three two-hour modules (see website for details: https://www.clintonfoundation.org/floatingsolar2021).

Course #2: Technical Track (standard module)
Aimed at solar practitioners and management and staff from the utility and regulators. Participants are expected to have a technical or engineering background with basic knowledge of electrical and power systems, as the course will provide a deeper dive into the key technical aspects associated with FPV fundamentals, design, and connection to the grid. The course will consist of four two or three hour webinars (see website for details: https://www.clintonfoundation.org/floatingsolar2021).

Course #3: Technical Track: additional module (hybrid systems)
This addition to the Technical Track will focus on floating solar PV hybrid systems, including PV-hydro hybrid systems and PV-diesel hybrid systems. Participants are expected to have the same technical background as required for the standard Technical Track.

Participation is free, but numbers are limited to ensure an interactive and high-quality experience. Priority given to those living/working in islands and certain partners of CCI and IDB.
