This two-part series hopes to "Break Barriers" and empower educators to engage with students from diverse backgrounds. In addition, educators will leave with strategies to craft lessons that consider unique perspectives and experiences all school year-long. Part 1: Provides an open forum for educators to reflect on their experiences working with students from diverse backgrounds and explores barriers that may impact student success. (2 Hours) Part 2: Equips educators with strategies to teach African American and African Diaspora history throughout the year, rather than limiting discussions to Black History Month. (2 Hours) Workshops are recommended, but not required, to be completed as a set. If you have any questions please email us at [email protected]. This program is supported by the Stella Boyle Smith Trust.
